Have you ever considered self-worth and receiving love and money could be connected and even be all in one?
In my view, money is not good or bad. Money is an energy that can be treated in any way we choose. It is our relationship with money that makes a difference. It is all in what we do with it and how we feel about money.
A dream I had reminded me of the importance of being open to love and to receive it. That dream seemed to depict self-worth and receiving money in abundance.
There is a little exercise I was introduced to called “word chains”. When I did one on the word money, I found what I associated money with, was love. I was quite surprised at that result. I never would have thought money could be associated with love.
Like many other people, I once had negative connotations about money. I still sometimes struggle with that.
Now when I think about the connection with love and money, I think about self-worth. They all tie in together. To me, being open to love and receiving and feeling it all around me raises my self-worth. If my self-worth is raised, this would enable me to be open to receive financial energy. Hence, money is love.
Money is not evil
I grew up hearing such statements as, “money is the route of all evil”, and “filthy rich”. I believed having too much money was somehow negative or evil.
When working in the spiritual field, I often hear that charging money for our work is somehow negative, and to charge at all should be at a minimum. I have also heard to be spiritual means to be penniless – and at best – to be a minimalist. I don’t know about you, but I feel these views are destructive and can corrode my self-worth and diminish how I feel about what I do.
I, like many others, have also been taught not to love myself and to keep my self-worth at a bare minimum.
Do you see a connection here?
Being able to receive in abundance includes any kind of abundance and to know that you deserve it. Your self-worth allows you to receive in abundance – money, love, time, healthy relationships, alone time, and anything that feeds your soul for your well-being.
Money is energy, a currency. How much of this energy are you open and willing to attract? It is an energy that is exchanged and needs to flow freely in and out, back and forth.
This currency is something that we can use freely as we wish, to exchange for whatever we want. The same is true for love and how we allow it to flow freely throughout ourselves and our lives.
Learning to grow in self-worth can involve developing a healthier relationship with money. However we handle money determines the consequence. Like all energy, it needs to be handled with care.
Forgiveness and self-love go hand in hand
To love myself means to forgive myself and others. Forgiveness means to no longer hang onto old pain which someone else or myself might have caused. Non-forgiveness must no longer suppress my ability to receive. Not always easy, but the work is essential for my self-love and self-worth which is still a work in progress.
High self-worth goes hand-in-hand with preventing blocks in the flow of money into your life.
The flow of money is the same as how you spend your own energy and how you replenish it; the same as how you give and receive love for yourself and others. I think this is no different from how you see your own self-worth.
Do you see your own self-worth? As Wayne Dyer said, “Self-worth comes from one thing – thinking that you are worthy“. Your energy is there for you to do with what you choose, like money, and I believe this stems from your self-worth.
Feel the love. Accept the abundance. Embrace the freedom. What is spirituality if not this?
Cheers.
Lots to think about….
