What dreams can tell us.

Spirit Messages

How spirit speaks to us through our dreams has fascinated me for many years …

I’m standing in a room, lined up side-by-side with my mother, aunt, and a couple other family members. My grandmother stands facing us, looking serene. Now, she hugs each one of us as she says good-bye. Then she slowly turns, walks away, and climbs out a window. She is standing on the ledge outside the window with a peaceful smile as she gazes into the distance. I know she is about to go. My heart is gripped with sorrow and in desperation, I call out to her… “Grandma! Don’t go!”

I awoke from the dream, sobbing. Later that morning I got a call from my mother saying my grandmother had gotten sick the night before and almost died. I was astonished at the news, and then I knew that I’d had a telepathic dream.

I was living in Toronto at the time and my grandmother, along with the rest of my family lived in B.C. Despite the distance between us, my grandmother and I had experienced a psychic connection through the dream state. She was ready to go to the spirit world and I called her back. As I think about this now, my calling her back might have stopped her from moving on as she had desired. She remained with us for some years after. Now with my deeper understanding I might handle this kind of spiritual connection differently and allow the person to move on as they wish.

A dream as a conduit

Dreams are a conduit between the physical and spiritual realms. They defy linear time as humans have created and show there is no distinction from which we perceive with our all of our senses. All is everything. It is spiritual energy that is reality. Dreams predict, teach, warn, and show us what we need to look at within our soul and in our lives. I have been keeping dream journals for thirty years and I am often amazed at what can come to me in a dream once my rational thoughts are out of the way.

Many people believe that dreams are frivolous and mean nothing. In my experience I have found this to be a mistake. Dreams are the voice of our soul that has shown me universal consciousness at work.

To me, spirit is the collective consciousness and our soul is our essence that communicates through this consciousness. This language speaks to us through our dreams not only while we sleep, but at all times. Thoughts pass us by continuously and a dream comes as a message, conveyed from thoughts picked up during the day. Hence, the soul can relay messages for guidance if we are open and willing to listen.

Dreams predict

Dreams have presented the opportunity to experience first-hand that past, present, and future are one and make up this great universal energy we refer to as Source. Dreams predict a lot more than we realize. Precognitive dreams demonstrate such a phenomenon.  I’ve had dreams come true sometimes as soon as the following day, or as long as months later. Dreams have no boundaries on linear time and can even come from our other lives. Linear time is very different from the spiritual realm.

Dreams can be very difficult to decipher, and are not of the rational mind of which we have become accustomed. What is important to remember is that dreams are the language of spirit. Tragically, we have lost much of our belief and familiarity with the way dreams communicate as we have caused corrosion in the connecting link to our dreams by ignoring and reducing them to silly nonsense.

Reconnecting with our self

Now we have reached a point where we are hungering to reconnect with the essence of who we are – universal spirit. This is our work in the evolution of our soul – to wake up and become conscious. I have felt that there is no separation and no time, and if we can get past the logical thinking mind and really listen, we can hear the guidance of our spirit messages.

Joyful journeying.
